Abu Christo, a fish and seafood restaurant in Old Acre, offers the perfect seafront experience every day of the week. The restaurant is located on the Acre seashore, overlooking Haifa Bay and the Carmel. The spectacular, open air view is only a bonus for what follows: a Greek-style Mediterranean meal.
A Celebration of Sea Treasures
It's only natural to serve fish and seafood when you are so close to the water. The fresh catches, caught each morning with fishing rods and nets, come straight to Abu Christo each and every day, and their next stop is your plate.
The quality fish, including bream, sea-bass and grouper, are carefully selected by local fishermen and then grilled and served with rich sauces. Seafood lovers can look forward to the impressive selection of oysters, mussels, calamari and shrimp, fresh from the depths of the sea, that awaits them.
You will find a wide selection of succulent meat dishes on the Abu Christo menu – all that's left for you to do is choose. Our main courses are served with hot pita bread, and, as befitting Greek food culture, many authentic appetizers and salads, which are served at the center of the table.
An Israeli Culinary Institution
Abu Christo was born in 1948, along with the State of Israel, and the restaurant's story is, in a way, the story of Israel. It all began when Anastas Trianfildes arrived in Israel from Greece. After settling in Acre during the "Kibbutz Galuyot" period, he decided to preserve what he had left behind, and started a home food restaurant.
At the time, Abu Christo was one of the only restaurants in the area. Times have changed since then, and generations have passed, but the Trianfildes family continues manage the restaurant with love. Today the third generation of the family, Anastas' grandson, keeps the flame burning.
Abu Christo - for Beautiful Family Moments
Who, if not the Trianfildes family, understands the importance of celebrating togetherness. That's why the restaurant is also available for life's small, beautiful events (up to 120 people).
